Yes, I think wireless devices are harmful.
Scientists usually use rats for tests because they are the closer model of humans in a matter of physiology and genetics. And, if the scientists have done many lab tests where they expose rats to radiofrequency and they have found that radiation has changed the form of brain, has done a dramatic effect on the function of the cells and has created heart cancer, I do not have doubt that it does or might do the same on human bodies. Even if we decide to no longer use cellphones or wireless devices, we will be exposed to radiofrequency radiation for all the wireless devices that people around us will continue to use. So, after all, radiation will still cause us harm.

This topic is extremely controversial, and honestly, I believe that wireless devices are not dangerous if you know how to use them. But the truth is that we can't ignore the fact that plenty of models indicate a consistent risk of electromagnetic radiation. This radiation increases the risk of tumor development, and many other health issues related to the use of wireless devices. In reality it is really hard in the world we are living, to get rid of all your wireless devices, but we can protect ourselves and be wise when using wireless devices. We can use the phone less, keep laptops away from our body, keep off the wireless while sleeping and many more things. But what I feel that we should really do is to get a radiation meter and control the amount of bad radiation that we are bringing to our bodies. You have to eat really well to make your body strong enough to fight the effects of radiation. Eat a healthy diet this means eat fresh fruit and vegetables every day, or lets just keep the advice of the bible, a healthy body is going to resist more than an unhealthy one.

  3. After reading this utterly honest interview, I saw some things differently. The man being interviewed gave us realistic answers. I have mixed feelings about wireless devices. But I stand by his side in believing that a thing that emits so little frequencies can affect so much. I believe they’re not completely safe! But we can’t lie to ourselves. Nothing in this world is one hundred percent safe. I do agree on educating our society, getting into different organizations and systems and create awareness of how much exposure or better and safer ways to execute certain things with our devices. I believe it is a blessing to have them and if we could improve them it would be much greater! Yet, I believe we can make the most out of the frequencies and radiation our devices produce. But all our lives this has been a debate, the safety devices.
We have to create a balance with everything in our lives. Everything in excess is not healthy. The tidbits we collect will help us in greater amounts.

Yes, actually i do think its harmful. I'm so use to putting my cell phone in my back pocket of my jeans and my professor said that could be harmful. So i took it up to google and found a research that said it can weaken the function of the hip. Also putting your phone in your bra can cause breast cancer and its proven. Its because it has a lot of radiation so we should be careful wherever we place our phones and we should not sleep near it either it could affect our body in many ways.

I want to say no, but I wouldn’t be completely honest. The truth is that there are thousands of signals passing through us right now at this exact moment. And it will be crazy to think that they won’t harm us at all. I know that they do at some point. But the question is how bad this will affect us, our body, and our health. That’s why our scientists and doctors don’t know, and are trying to look for but it seems a little bit up hill to jump into serious conclusions. It’s scary to think that something small, that we use on our daily bases could be so harmful to us which may even develop cancer in us. This is just a delicate topic that we have to be able to go and do some personal research to found out more about this.

  6. Sandra Gordon;2015, says that wireless devices use radio waves, a form of electromagnetic radiation, to communicate with cell towers through their antenna. Although the radio-frequency (RF) energy they give off is relatively weak and has long been presumed to be safe, increasing evidence suggests that it may pose health hazards. In 2011 the International Agency for Research on Cancer, an arm of the World Health Organization (WHO), classified RF energy as "possibly carcinogenic to humans." And a recent Swedish study published in Pathophysiology found that using a cell phone, especially before age 20, raised the risk of a certain type of brain tumor over time. In my opinion it might be, because several investigations and researches have shown these radiation has the possibility to be bad for human health and could be harmful. They give this example of cigarette smokers. That for so long people doesn’t know what was in cigarette that caused cancer. They explained that when a smoker died that his or her lungs were different from those of a non-smoker, but it was not easy to identify the mechanism causing the change in the lungs. It is similar with this case of radiation, that there is no explanation that something with such low energy (these radiation) could cause significant bad effects, which cause a danger to human health. Those who working in the area of gene expression saw those effects, but there had been no way that they can explain it (Larry Greenemeier , 2016). I think it is better to prevent it, because there is not a certain evidence that proved that it is true. But most researches shows that there is the possibility. We can prevent by connecting the phone to Bluetooth in your car, send text massages or when you have to make a phone call put it on speaker. And when we talk on the cell phone we can use earpiece to avoid less radiation in our face and also when we go to sleep turn off our cell phones and avoid sleeping with the cell phone under our pillows.

Wireless devices use radio waves, a form of electromagnetic radiation, to communicate with cell towers through their antenna. Although the radio-frequency (RF) energy they give off is relatively weak and has long been presumed to be safe, increasing evidence suggests that it may pose health hazards. While experts are concerned about all wireless devices, cell phones carry the biggest potential danger because people tend to hold them up to their ear close to the brain. And kids are the most vulnerable to RF energy's effects because their body is still developing. We live in a digital world that, with every Fitbit and Apple Watch introduction, is only becoming more so. We're all exposed to radiation every day from a variety of devices cell phones, tablets, laptops, e-readers, and its net effect is cumulative. We're still learning about radiation and its effects on our health. So far, scientific evidence has not been conclusive. For now, many experts advise that parents take precautions. Until and unless we learn that radiation from portable electronic devices is safe, we should assume that it's harmful. Contributes to the development of insomnia it’s been suggested that sleeping near a phone, in a home with Wi-Fi, or in an apartment building with many Wi-Fi signals can create chronic sleep problems as the constant bombardment of Wi-Fi pollution interferes with falling asleep and sleep patterns. For many, sleep deprivation is just the start for larger problems. The development of depression and hypertension have also been linked to inadequate sleep. Damaging to childhood development exposure to non-thermal radio frequency radiation from Wi-Fi and cellular phones can disrupt normal cellular development, especially fetal development. Provokes cardiac stress if you think your heart races when surrounded by wireless networks or 3G or LTE cell phones, it may not be in your head. Linked to cancer this is extremely controversial but we can’t ignore that plenty of animal models indicate that exposure to electromagnetic radiation increases the risk of tumor development. While human studies are rare, reports and case studies abound. One such case involves a young 21-year-old woman who developed breast cancer. What makes this case unique was that her family did not have a predisposition to breast cancer… and she developed the tumor right on the spot she carried her cell phone in her bra.

  9. Having read the article it informed me a little more about the dangers radiation from a cellphone or any device could do to us concerning cancer. What caught my attention the most was the study by U.S NTP, they exposed rats to intensified RF radiation which led them to develop rare forms of heart and brain cancer. This to me is very interesting. I do think that any kind of devices like cellphones can be very harmful to us. Everything that is man-made has an effect on us. The radiation that we are exposed to using these devices may not harm us all at once but slowly but surely it is. We should be able to limit the amount of time we expose ourselves to them and be aware.I think its very important that everyone be informed of the harm these devices could do to them and the studies concerning this should continue to develop. But as technology gets greater and greater the more will we be exposed to different kinds of radiation.

  10. This is actually kind of scary, it gives me chills. I’ve always thought there has to be some sort of damage from mobile devices, there just has to. But to actually see some sort of proof, of the possibility that it can actually harm you very seriously it’s a whole different thing. I definitely think they do some damage but I’m not sure of how serious it is. After reading this I think it needs to be taken more seriously, there should be some exhaustive research done regarding this issue. The faster we know how serious or not serious the harm is, the better it is for society as a whole.

Do you think wireless devices are harmful? Why or why not?

Here we go again. Wireless devices are being linked to cancer. I’ve noticed that everything we use cause us cancer. Radioactivity, hairspray, suns cream; I could go on and on talking about so many things we use at the daily that might give us cancer. Why create something that will bring us harm? Why waste so much money on something that could bring us to the hospital bed? I have family members that don’t even have a cellphone, and they go to go the hospital to get chemotherapy. I know that being in the internet and not spending time with family is just wrong, but cancer? Cancer is a serious decease and if wireless cellphones are giving it to us,let’s all go back to writing letters, instead.

  12. Personally, I always thought that these “cell phones cause cancer” articles were pretty crazy, but this article does bring up some interesting points. I had actually heard a lot of stories about phones being linked to cancer, but the problem back then was the lack of evidence. It honestly felt more like a scare tactic than anything. I didn’t know that rats were actually getting cancer as a result of exposure to radio waves. The part that’s really scary is the fact that these weren’t just random occurrences, since you can actually link the exposure to the heart and brain cancer the rats got. However, I haven’t heard any real cases of brain tumour suddenly being linked to the cell phone, and as the article points out, a cell phone’s RF radiation is non-ionizing, so it doesn’t break down chemicals. So what’s the big deal? From this article, you can kind of assume that the problem is using the phones too much could potentially cause problems, just like anything else. In my opinion, using the cell phone too much is unhealthy one way or the other. Maybe it won’t give you a horrifying disease, but it will definitely cause problems depending on how often you use it.

  13. I don't think it truly matters whether they are or aren't. People are creatures of habit and in a society which lives of the veins of technology it would be hard to see people cutting down on their use of said technology due to study that isn't being talked about and probably will never hit daily syndication. Why? There is too much money put into technology. If these devices were found to be actually harmful in a manner that was tangible within a short period of time as opposed to a long one; we would see more buzz about the subject. The fact that there hasn't been proves two points: one being that no one cares. As long as their lives are convenient due to technology it won't really matter and two: technology has become to big to fail on any level especially on a cellular one. Do I think wireless devices are harmful? Yes over an expanded time and due to exaggerated use yet people won't really take that opinion into consideration as long as the newest Iphone is coming out.

do i think its harmful? yes. here's the thing although we have so much evidence pointing to the fact that radio frequencies are harmful, we honestly don't care. this is a little harsh to say but when we hear anything regarding health concerns we automatically place that thought or fact in the back seat of our mind. why? because as first world people we don't about the possibility of danger, death or health concerns until it placed right in our face. its a sad reality that we have grown accustomed to. i personally wish i could change the fact that i need to have wireless devices, but in the direction in which the world is moving is basically every thing wireless.

I think it depends on the wireless device and how it operates. It is said that the excess of things is not good for you. We were created to be active. To walk, run, move all over the place, work the land etcetera. I only mention these because that’s how messages where sent back in the day. You would have to walk to talk to whomever you needed to contact. However, we don’t have to do that anymore, now that we are living different times and have cars. These days’ technology is definitely a necessity no matter who you are. There is a wide variety of wireless devices. As technology advances they are being made more and more useful. Cell phones are used by pretty much everyone. Bluetooth technology is super useful especially while driving and in other situations where you need to have your hands available. The internet being wireless is awesome. Otherwise our phones would always need to be connected somehow other than thru wi-fi. Going back to cell phones, I think these are the ones I’ve heard and read more on it being harmful. It is said that the radio waves can cause cancer. I think that the human being was not created to be so dependent on technology.

From an ignorant standpoint, I could say “no, cell phones are not harmful. It's just like what they said about salads, cheese, and water, it's all just a warning that holds no validity.” However, as I said, I would be very ignorant to say something like that. As an aspiring nurse, and future doctor this claim has a lot of “validity”. With basic knowledge of how cells work, we can completely understand, that exposure to any-type of radiation, has some effect on the cell. In fact, chemotherapy, uses X-rays, gamma rays, and charged particles to kill cancer cells. Now, we wouldn't stand in the sun for a extended period of time without proper protection, nor would we show up to an X-ray appointment and not use the lead based apron they provide. Likewise, we shouldn't be ignorant towards our cell phone usage and its production of radiation, we should understand that constant handling of our cell phone has to affect the cells of our bodies. Although I don't believe that we can accurately calculate whether the effects are major or minor, we have to be aware that a direct correlation between radiation exposure and cell degradation is very much true. In this study, we see rats developing some type of cancer when exposed to high amounts of cell phone radiation; according to many biologists rats are one of the closest animals to humans, biologically speaking. Therefore, this allows for a close observation of the possible effects cell phone radiation would have on humans. In conclusion, I deeply believe wireless devices are harmful, simply because of the radiation they produce.

  17. I do not know if in fact the technological devices cause damage to the human being and to the point of causing cancer I always heard this since i was small but I honestly don't not know if it is really true. The only thing that I know with certainty is that technology is dominated us and we are becoming dependent on technological devices which in my opinion distracts us from reality and takes away time that we could be using productively.

Do you think wireless devices are harmful? Why or why not?
Yes and no.. No because like it was said, cellphone radiation is non-ionizing radiation, and cellphones have a very low energy. So I guess it wouldn't just affect much. But then again, it still is radiation that most of us have on us at all times. And just like the example they used on cigarettes causing cancer, the same could be with wireless devices.it can slowly lead to changes in our bodies and different reactions that could even be cancer. I guess what I'm trying to say is that not only the radiation frequencies of our devices affect us, but also all the signal towers and all that ongoing radiation around us. Anything is excess can be bad for us. There's just so much radiation in our environments that I believe it's bound to affect one way or another. Maybe not with cancer but with anything in our health.

This is a question that comes up from time to time, and the short answer is no. In fact, we could rephrase your question and pretend that you'd asked about baby alarms, radio-controlled cars, cordless phones, Bluetooth headsets, security alarms and loads of other things that operate in the same unlicensed radio frequency band without causing concern. The longer answer is that the intensity of a Wi-Fi signal is around is 100,000 times less than a microwave oven. The oven is a targeted device that operates at very high voltages and short distances. Wi-Fi routers operate at very low voltages, broadcast in all directions, and are used at relatively long distances. Since radio waves follow the inverse square law – like light, sound and gravity – then each time you double the distance, you get only a quarter of the energy. In other words, the signal strength falls off very rapidly. the electromagnetic spectrum stretches all the way from very long wave radio frequencies to very short wave gamma rays, with visible light somewhere in between. We know that types of ionising radiation with wavelengths shorter than light tend to be dangerous. However, the non-ionising wavelengths that are longer than light tend not to be dangerous. These include infra-red rays, microwaves and radio waves. At 2.45GHz, Wi-Fi comes in the microwave band along with baby monitors and mobile phones. After that come the radio frequency bands used for TV broadcasting and AM/FM radio, and further along, long wave radio.

Do you think wireless devices are harmful? Why or why not?

Yes, i think that they are harmful. The radiation that the wireless devices and other electronics produces are very harmful for us. We have a classic example of a device that affects people pretty bad and it’s the Bluetooth device. That little device that we put in our ears influences in some kinds of cancer. We can describe a cancer like a group of cells that proliferate so fast that they don’t have any control. That development results in tumors, and the tumors can affect every organ in a person. The cancer cells have the ability to transport themselves from an organ to another using the bloodstream. The people with cancer sometimes get it from an exposure to something with electromagnetic waves or stuff like that. Many people born with cancer, but it doesn’t get activate until the trigger gets pulled by something that causes stress. So it’s important to know that the wireless signals are waves that can activate those sleeping genes. The wireless era, have become the actual era and it’s very practical for many reasons but we had to have on mind the consequences that it haves in our health. They make our life better and easier but they are very harmful.

Having no previous knowledge and understanding of this subject I am forced to answer this question based on the article I have just read. The article states there has been an experiment where rats are being exposed to radio-frequency(RF) radiation, which is the type of radiation cell phones emit. The results show the rats are beginning to present cancer and/or tumors, however I am convinced that if an organism is constantly experimented by being exposed to radiation then it is bound to show the results you want, cancer. I honestly believe this study lacks outcome because they don’t know how RF radiation could create cellular-level changes that could lead to cancer, and also establish that RF radiation is a non-ionizing type of radiation which doesn’t have the energy to break chemical bonds, so there shouldn’t be any biological effects on users whatsoever. Frankly this raises more questions than what it provides answers, as expressed in the article. In conclusion, I personally don’t believe wireless devices are harmful and I highly doubt people would stop using cell phones if this were to be a serious problem.

  22. i believe they are really dangerous, they can cause things that we cant even see. otherwise, there are too many exaggerations from the people in this days its not like that dangerous either. ive heard cases where cell phones have caused cncer in breasts because woman place it there, but i think that is true but woman have the guilt, its stupid to have something that have radiation every hour, minute and second in by your side knowing that it can cause severe danger on you.

Wireless devices… Well yes. There are many studies that link wireless devices with cancer. Why this is like this, because the way the wireless devices work. For these devices to work, they need signals and signals are most of the time produce by radiation and everybody knows that radiation deforms and makes mutations on the cells. Mutation on the cells is not bad in a way, because this is a form of adaptation of nature. The problem is that many of the cells that mutate become cancer and that is a problem. Radiation causes these problems and sadly, the wireless devices uses and produces this type of dangerous energy.
